Made in collaboration with Anastasia Almosova, Fall to,Arrhythmia is an investigation into biotic phenomena that correspond to keeping time, focussing specifically on the cardiac pulse. Much like time provides an infrastructure connecting the intellectual categories of thought to a pure intuition of the world, the heart constitutes an interface between those flows of blood and air that run respectively into and out of the body. To this end, the measured heart rate of any viewer was instrumentalized to modulate the frame rate and BPM of the visual and auditory components. The video repurposes material previously created for Trinity alongside new 3DCGI renderings by Almosova while the audio piece samples excerpts of writing that emerged from a week-long meditation retreat hosted by Arjan Stockhausen at the Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences.
